Angel Piper, MSW, LCSW
Angel has worked in the behavioral healthcare field for over 20 years; most of those years she has held leadership positions that included program development, clinical leadership/oversight, business development, and assessment and referral. Angel has served as a Chief Executive Officer for the past 6 years at various behavioral health hospitals. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in business from Virginia Commonwealth University. She begin working in the behavioral health field and later pursued her MSW and then her LCSW. Angel has an array of experience in working with adolescents, adults, active duty service members and veterans. She is passionate and dedicated to the behavioral health field and strives to improve the overall patient care systems and the patient experience.

Brenda Keller, LPC
Brenda is an LPC who has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years in various capacities including clinical services, intake, risk management and several leadership positions. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Asbury University in Wilmore, KY, and her Master’s in counseling from Kaplan University. She is passionate about all aspects of treatment and utilizes solution focused, DBT, CBT and other forms of therapy to assist people with healing from their trauma and living their best lives. As an RYT 500 prepared yoga teacher, Brenda is also passionate about the mind body connection in therapy and life and supporting healing journeys with breath and movement. In her spare time, Brenda enjoys spending time with her dogs and teaching yoga.

Dr. John Kupfner
Dr. John Kupfner is currently a Psychiatrist for Peninsula Behavioral Health and the Medical Director of the Peninsula Outpatient Clinic. He is also the current Department Chair at Peninsula Behavioral Health in Knoxville, Tennessee. Additionally, Dr. Kupfner serves as a local expert on mental health; with radio appearances on WUOT as well as television appearances on WLVT, WATE, and WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, followed by his Medical Doctorate from the University of New York State, at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Kupfner completed his Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Virginia. He has previously worked as an Attending Physician and Psychiatrist for Catawba State Hospital and Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia. Dr. Kupfner completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and served as Vice Department Chair at Peninsula Behavioral Health, a division of Parkwest Hospital.

Cheryl Brown
Cheryl is passionate about helping others achieve their mental health goals. She has worked with children, Adolescences and adults suffering from Severe Mental Illnesses, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and Behavioral Issues. She has served as a Facilitator for IOP, Marriage and Family Therapist and Community based therapy. Cheryl has 18 years of experience working in Residential, working with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Autism. She is experienced in working with individuals with various communication styles/needs, including eye gaze and augmented communication devices. Her therapeutic approaches are a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approaches, Marriage and Family therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Behavioral Therapy. Cheryl received her undergraduate degree from Knoxville College and received her master’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Mental Health Counseling.
